About Steven

Steven Murphy’s early life was shaped by the steelworks, shipbuilding yards, and vast chemical production facilities that defined the industrial heartlands of North East England.

Raised in Grangetown on Teesside, he often watched as his father — a hardened Socialist Union member — held meetings at the family home. That environment forged a deep intolerance for peacocking politicians and no-substance politics

A Brexit supporter and advocate for self-governance, he believes in competition, freedom of choice, and personal independence. He challenges the culture of rights & entitlement, arguing that success must be earned — not granted. Prosperity is not a given, and not all will achieve it.
His convictions are grounded in lived experience, not ideology.

Steven holds an MSc with Distinction in Global Logistics & Supply Chain Management and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (FCILT).

These credentials underpin his thinking around Leagile governance — a decentralised hybrid model that blends lean processes with agile responsiveness. Steven advocates for the increased use of technology, including virtual platformsand explores how they can serve as enablers within government — improving communication, transparency, and engagement with the people.

Steven Murphy is the founder of CHOICE GB and the architect of his version of Earthism — a radical socio-economic framework that challenges and dismantles the arrogance embedded in current societal thinking. Earthism demands a radical reimagining of political engagement and leadership — one grounded in consequence, not illusion.

It calls for systems fit for the 21st century: decentralised, transparent, and accountable to the people they serve.

We have handed ourselves entitlements to consume, create waste, and degrade the very systems that sustain life—the Earth. So‑called “progressive” policies are hailed as the foundations of civilization and often treated as unconditional; this has sparked a vital debate about responsibility, accountability, and their status as an ecological necessity.

Earthism – A New Path Forward

We are living through the exhaustion of old systems. Election cycles repeat, promises pile up, and debt deepens — while the planet buckles under the weight of unchecked population growth and consumption. Politicians recycle tired policies, evading accountability and offering no real alternatives.
Earthism breaks this loop. It’s not just a critique of failed ideologies — it’s a blueprint for restoring ecological balance and rewarding human ambition.

The Earth Tax – A bill we all must pay

Welfare systems should provide survival essentials, not lifestyle or unearned equality living standards. Everyone must contribute economically and financially, no exceptions. This isn’t optional, it’s the cost of participation in a functioning society. A just system demands that everyone pays their share, so the foundations of health, equity, and sustainability can endure. Society must stop tolerating non-contribution, no contribution, no voice.
