Steven Murphy’s early life was shaped by the steelworks, shipbuilding yards, and vast chemical production facilities that defined the industrial heartlands of North East England.
Raised in Grangetown on Teesside, he often watched as his father — a hardened Socialist Union member — held meetings at the family home. That environment forged a deep intolerance for peacocking politicians and no-substance politics.
A Brexit supporter and advocate for self-governance, he believes in competition, freedom of choice, and personal independence. He challenges the culture of rights & entitlement, arguing that success must be earned — not granted. Prosperity is not a given, and not all will achieve it.
His convictions are grounded in lived experience, not ideology.
Steven holds an MSc with Distinction in Global Logistics & Supply Chain Management and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (FCILT).
These credentials underpin his thinking around Leagile governance — a decentralised hybrid model that blends lean processes with agile responsiveness. Steven advocates for the increased use of technology, including virtual platforms, and explores how they can serve as enablers within government — improving communication, transparency, and engagement with the people.
Steven Murphy is the founder of CHOICE GB and the architect of his version of Earthism — a radical socio-economic framework that challenges and dismantles the arrogance embedded in current societal thinking. Earthism demands a radical reimagining of political engagement and leadership — one grounded in consequence, not illusion.
It calls for systems fit for the 21st century: decentralised, transparent, and accountable to the people they serve.
